Infrastructure, Specialized and Mineral Assets

Valuation of assets with limited or no directly comparable market.

Overview

We value infrastructure and specialised assets that have limited or no directly comparable market, including utility networks, process plants, and purpose-built facilities. Our work also covers mines and mineral advisory, where valuation depends on resource assessment, extraction economics, and the transition of the wider energy market.

Our Approach

Specialised assets rarely trade, so value must be established from cost, income, or resource economics rather than comparable sales. We build up depreciated replacement cost with explicit physical, functional and economic obsolescence, or model the income the asset generates where it operates as a revenue-producing system.

Asset Types

This work commonly covers:

•Utility networks — electricity, gas, water, sewage
•Process plants and refineries
•Purpose-built production facilities
•Ports, terminals and handling infrastructure
•Power generation, including renewables
•Mines and mineral resources

Mines and Mineral Advisory

Mineral valuation depends on resource and reserve assessment, extraction economics, commodity price outlook and the transition of the wider energy market. We work from the technical reports and model the economics rather than accepting headline resource figures at face value.
